I believe that's a control box for the pack lights and (maybe?) holds the batteries. Pretty sure someone replicated one in the past.

I have one of these on my hero pack as well.



I thought that I had a picture of it before I painted it and attached it to my motherboard, but I can't locate it if I still do. I remember it being a baby blue color though.

I stand corrected! I actually liked the idea of that being there for reason of concealment and space rather then drilling to many Unnecessary holes on my motherboard giving a inaccurate look. I wish there was more details on this

I'm pretty sure it was from when the pack was on display at Planet Hollywood, and not part of the original prop, despite what Chris said in his video. I've just double checked The Ghostbusters Reference Library, and can't see any trace of it on any of the packs during GB1.
