It might be possibly the reason why it would not work for some time. I thought I just needed new batteries. That didn't work either. I left it alone overnight and picked it up the next day and it's operating again

Interesting, I may carefully try to remove the board off of the meter tonight and take photos for even more depth. I'm curious what the other side of the board looks like. If there is a thermistor on it, it's likely on the front since the back only looks like traces and a single capacitor. I'll also take measurements of the board dimensions.

I did find one transistor at Q1 marked J3Y. It may be used as a thermistor. I'm not entirely sure though. I've updated the first post with photos.

Does anyone happen to know what size screws are holding the meter together? I stripped a bunch and would like to replace them
